Q. How would you describe your style?
Photojournalistic with a big nod to fine art photography. Put simply, I do my best to tell your story honestly and beautifully.
Q. Where are you based?
The small coastal city of Pacific Grove, California, located about an hour north of Big Sur.
Q. Do you travel for weddings? Does it cost more?
I LOVE to travel. That’s what my wife and I do best. I frequently service both the Big Sur/Monterey Peninsula and San Francisco Bay Area, but will travel just about anywhere to photograph your wedding. Weddings outside of CA are an additional $500. $950 for international.
Q. How do I book you?
I ask my couples to sign a simple (non-frightening) contract. In addition to this, I require a retainer of 50% of the total to save the date. The remaining balance is due one week before wedding day.
Q. When do we get our photos?
6 to 8 weeks, often sooner.
Q. How do we get our photos?
Via a private online gallery from which you can download all of your images. Print services are available through the gallery.
Q. Are the images high resolution?
Yes. And they are ready for you to print. I also provide web sized files.
Q. How many photos will I actually get?
The amount you receive depends on the package you choose, but you can expect 60-100 photos per hour of photographic coverage.
Q. Who owns the copyright to the photographs?
I own the copyrights, but you will have full license to print as many as you’d like, wherever you’d like.
Q. Do you make wedding albums?
I offer fine art, custom made albums that are designed by me to tell your specific story. Each album is printed on archival paper and bound in a gorgeous a layflat design. Prices start at $900.
Q. Can I get prints?
Of course. I highly encourage everyone to print some or all of their photos. JPEGs have a somewhat limited lifespan, but top quality prints are the perfect way for your memories to last for years to come. Prints are available through your gallery, though I don’t require you to obtain prints through me.
Q. What gear do you use?
I prefer to keep it simple and light so that there is little between me and your wedding. Here’s what I pack:
Canon 5D Mark III
Canon 24-70 f/2.8
Sigma 50 f/1.4
Sigma 35 f/1.4
Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT
Many memory cards and plenty of storage to back up your wedding
Q. Do you travel with back up gear/insurance?
Yes and yes!
Q. What are you currently listening to?
John Cale - Paris 1919
