FAQ
Photojournalistic with a big nod to fine art photography. Put simply, I do my best to tell your story honestly and beautifully.
Where are you based?
The small coastal town of Pacific Grove, California, located about an hour north of Big Sur.
Do you travel for weddings? Does it cost more?
I LOVE to travel, and will go just about anywhere to photograph your wedding. Generally, I charge the cost of a plane ticket and 2 or 3 days lodging for weddings in Southern California and the rest of the US. There are no travel fees for weddings within the Big Sur/Monterey Peninsula and San Francisco Bay Area.
How do I book you?
I ask my couples to sign a simple (non-frightening) contract. In addition to this, I require a retainer of 50% of the total to save the date. The remaining balance is due one week before wedding day.
When do we get our photos?
Generally 10 to 12 weeks after your wedding date.
How do we get our photos?
I deliver high resolution and web-sized files through a private online gallery. From there you can download the images as well as order prints.
How many photos will I actually get?
The amount you receive depends on the package you choose, but you can expect 60-100 photos per hour of photographic coverage.
I own the copyrights, but you will have full license to print as many as you’d like, wherever you’d like.
Do you make wedding albums?
I offer heirloom, flushmount albums that are carefully designed to tell your unique story. Each album is crafted by hand with archival material and features thick, layflat pages printed on photographic paper. Please inquire for pricing.
Can I get prints?
Of course. I highly encourage everyone to print some or all of their photos. JPEGs have a somewhat limited lifespan, but top quality prints are the perfect way for your memories to last for years to come. Prints are available through your gallery, though I don’t require you to obtain prints through me.
What gear do you use?
I prefer to keep it simple and light so that there is little between me and your wedding. Here’s what I pack:
2x Canon 5D Mark IV
Canon 24-70 f/2.8
Canon 50 f/1.2
Canon 35 f/1.4
Canon 85 f/1.4
2x Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT
Many memory cards and plenty of storage to back up your wedding
Do you have insurance?
I sure do! Just let me know if your venue needs to see my certificate of insurance!
